Más de 30 diputados porteños delos distintos bloques políticos en la Legislatura local firmaron un proyecto para que el ex director técnico de la selección argentina campeona en el Mundial de México 1986, Carlos Salvador Bilardo, sea declarado como Ciudadano Ilustre de la Ciudad en reconocimiento a «un ejemplo de esfuerzo y dedicación».
La propuesta destaca que Bilardo «es considerado uno de los más grandes directores técnicos de toda la historia del fútbol mundial, reconocido por su compromiso con el trabajo, su seguimiento sobre los jugadores a su cargo y su estudio perfeccionista y permanente sobre la táctica y estrategia del juego».
«Es, ante todo, una persona que ha dedicado su vida al estudio, tanto de las ciencias médicas como del deporte», agrega el texto impulsado por el legislador Guillermo Suárez y acompañado por pares de todo el arco político porteño.
El también ex entrenador de Estudiantes de La Plata y Boca Juniors permanece alojado en una residencia geriátrica del barrio de Almagro debido a las consecuencias del síndrome de Hakim-Adams, la enfermedad neurológica que padece desde hace casi un lustro y se manifiesta habitualmente en adultos desde los 50 años en adelante.
El reconocimiento legislativo requiere, para su aprobación, del voto de al menos los dos tercios de los diputados; esto es 40 de los 60 escaños, y sólo pueden recibirlas un máximo de diez personas por año.
